Our family has chosen to make it’s living growing the best fruit imaginable, making luxurious table and dessert wines for everyone to enjoy, and inviting visitors into our winery to taste.  We are not a huge corporate gift shop, event site or theme park–visitors see where the grapes are grown, where the wine is made, who makes it, and why we make it here. 

Virtually all of our farming and winemaking is done by family members, with help during pruning and harvest.  Our winemaker is Bernard Lerch, who holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has been making wine for over 4 decades.  Our winemaven is his wife Anne, who you will be most likely to visit with in the tasting room.  Various Lerch progeny have contributed their labor to the whole endeavor, and we even have a “Wine Mom”, Anne’s mother Helen, who wanders through occasionally.  Each of us has our stories to tell, and all of us are delighted to meet you!

Our general wine philosophy takes its cue from history:  The traditions of the past always make room for the innovations of today that work,  and nothing is sacred but the enjoyment and appreciation of the wine and the people you’re sharing it with.
